BIG FORCE GIVES IN EDHEM BEY SURRENDERS TO GREEKS. Published in The Tfnw ~ ATHENS, January 29. A communique from Smyrna confirm* the report that Edhem Bey’s force of two thousand surrendered to the Greeks. Nearly half the officers and men entered the Greek lines just when tbe Turkish propagandist stories of Nationalist victories were gaining credence. It is supposed that FYlhcan unkindly selected the moment to surrender in order to inflict the most serious damage to the Nationalist prestige. In the opinion of British observers the reports of the Nationalist military strength, are -mere bluff. ATHENS, January 30.
