THE CHAMPION SCULLER
BARRY WELCOMED AT TWICKENHAM. RAPTUROUS ENTHUSIASM. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Received December 1, 8.00 p.m.) LONDON. December 1. Ernest Barry (the champion sculler) had a rapturous reception at Twickenham, including a torchlight procession from Richmond Bridge, headed by the King's watermen in full regalia, by permission of Kiii££ George. Local watermen drew Barry's carriage to the Town Hall, where ex-King Manoel, ivho is a local resident, presented silver plate in the presence of leading amateur and professional oarsmen. Marry, replying, said the Australians looked upon his visit as a sporting one, and gave him the greatest reception in his life.
