BOWLING CENTRE

MEETING OF THE EXECUTIVE. THE DOMINION : TOURNAMENT. The executive of the Wellington Bowling Centre met last night, Mr F. Meadowcroft presiding. There were also present:—Messrs 51. J. Hodgins, H. G. Binitli. G: Hendry,'. H. Gilbert, F. Townsend, A. Coles, W. H. Morrah, J. Pawson, V. R. Dimock, A. Edwards, J 3. J. Hill P. North,, and G. H. Underwood (secretary). Messrs T. Bush (president of the Association) arid A. S. • Fowler( treasurer) were others in -attendance. Mr J. Pa ivson (delegate of th» Central Petone Club), who took his seat on the executive for the first time, was welcomed. That his mission was to talk over tournament matters was information volunteered by Mr T, Bush. He said the council hoped to make the tournament scheduled to be hold in January a record for Australasia. The association could not dp that without the assistance of. the centre. The executive of the association desired a selection of, say, five members to form a committee to act in conjunction with the execu- ! tive. It did not' necessarily follow that those five members should be selected from the executive of the centre, it | would be better if thev could get five men who were not playing in the tournament. The secretary would require a good deal of assistance, and the disputes committee would require to be in attendance..throughout the tournament. The following committee was elected:— Messrs .51.1 J. Hodgins. J. J. Roberts, G. Hendry, I. Salek, and the Rev. F. H. Petrie. A letter was received from the Wangnnui Centre suggesting that the question of home-and-home inter-centre matches between Wellington and Wanganui be considered. After a short discussion, the proposal was approved and it was resolved to send rinks to Wanganui at a date to be arranged. The financial statement, which was adopted, disclosed a credit balance of £l9 18s 2d. le?.s a sum of ,£8 lis 3d to cover two accounts which had just conio to hand.
