Mr Asquith, interviewed, described Mr Lloyd George's speech as a declaration of insolvency on the part of tho Coalition Government. He added: "The only Irish policy he offers is a repudiation of Dominion Home Rule, the condonation of the hellish policy of reprisals, an attempt to answer murder by murder and outrage by terrorism. It is not government, but anarchy. 1 will deal with the matter of the supposed strategib dangers of Dominion settlement when I review the whole situation at Ayr on Thursday." OUTRAGES CONTINUE DESPERATE FIGHT IN NEWCESTON. LONDON, October 10. A patrol of the Eajex regiment, with two motor-lorries, was ambushed at Newcestown, and a desperate fight ensued. Lieutenant Richardson was killed and a lieutenant and three soldiers were seriously wounded. The civilian casualties are not known. SINN FEIN PRISONERS WRECK THEIR CELLS.. LONDON, October 10. Early this morning Sinn Fein prisoners in the Londonderry Gaol wrecked their cells, smashed the windows, and damaged other property. Troops were called in and fired. Uproar continued until the arrival of an armoured car and more troops.
