NELSON MAY HAVE OBSERVATORY. TEK PRESS ASSOCIATION. NELSON, October 11. There is a possibility that Nelson will jet have an astronomical observatorv on the Port Hills, near Bishop, dale. The Yale University has largo funds earmarked for an observatory Somewhere in Tthe Southern Hemisphere. Mr F. G. Gibbs brought before tho Yale authorities the advantages offered by Nelson, and received a reply from the Director of the Yale Obte/vatory that ho is greatly interested in the information given, and that tho chance or establishing an observatory here is certainly good enough t« warrant considerable trouble in the collection of meteorological data. Tho Cawthron trustees are willing to allow the site on the Port Hills selected Dy Mr Evershed to be used.
