A SHORT SITTING The Legislative Council sab at 2.30 p.m. yesterday. . Tho Offenders’ Probation Bill and the Westport Harbour Bill were received from tho House of Representatives and read a first time. ■ 'The Hospital and Charitable Institutions Amendment Bill, the Dunedin City Corporation Empowering Bill, the Auckland Harbour Board Empowering Bill, tho Christchurch District Drainage Amendment Bill, tho Bay of Islands Harbour Bill, and tho Wanganui River Trust Amendment Bill were read a second time, practically without discussion, and at 2.45 p.m. tho Council rose till Wednesday next.
