The. rivers Doe and Don "are flooded and'' tho countryside for miles is inundated. .The floods are the worst since AiVffust 1829, when the. Moray floods, in which the rivers Spcy and Eiridhorn "rose in sqme places fifty feet and caused great loss ofproperty and many lives. Shipping at Aberdeen suffered heavy damage. Five drifters and two small steamers were wreclced.
