COASTAL SHIP TO FARM
LAD'S VARIED EXPERIBNOE'. Afphonso Tohill (18), who camo up for sentence at Auckland for. a couple of thefts at Ohaupo. had had a varied experience in his brief life.. He left home in Dunedin a few months ago, and got a job as brass-boy on a coastal steamer. Leaving the ship at Auckland, he worked ae express messenger, and kitchen-hoy at various places, then stole a suit of clothes and skipped to Hamilton, where he didodd work under an assumed name, hut was eventually caught "by the police. Given to start again he pet off again as a brass-boy, hut left that and took a.job on .;>• farm in the King Country, hut waited on the farm only long enough to steal soma monev and jewellery, and then set off to: catch the train for Wellington. He was intercepted at' the .Te Awamutu railway station. Tohill was sentenced to, 21 days' imprisonment, withy a ' recommendation that he be transferred to tho Werarpa Training Para.
