Crosse (Napier) put up a phenomenal round, playing J. Harold (Wanganui). In the ■morning he went round in 73, and even with his plus 4 handicap he! was 3.up on".bogey, v. • . A ; keen inatoh -between Kapi Tarcha (Napier) 'and Collins (Wairarapa) ended in: a win for the former by '& up and 1 to play. ' ■ ' : In tho semi-finals Goss beat Forbes 4 up and 3 to play,, and Kapi Tareha beat Crosse 3 up and 1 to play. The latter match was watched by a big group of spectators. Tareha played superb coif, especially with his driver and cleek. Winning the first hole he kept the tee all' the way, being 1 up- at the' turn. Here ho. registered tome phenomenal drives, and iad OrosEe pressing to keep within distance. At the fifteenth Tareha was dormy three, • Oroase reduced it to dormy 'i, but- tho Maori got the 'l7th with a brilliant "three," and won by 3 up and 1 to play. J. Goss (Wanganui) now meets Tareha in the final to be flayed over 36 holes to-morrow. The four-ball bogev match was won by H. Hutohi«in and W. Strang 7 up, Kapi Tareha-and Dawson (Hutt) 6 up, being second.
