SOUTH AFRICAN GOVERNMENT. 'SNAP VOTE HAS "NO POLITICAL SIGNIFICANCE." Keuter's Telegram, f (Received August 15, 5.5 p.m.) CAPETOWN, August 13. - • In the Assembly the Government was —defeated on a snap voto by 43 to 42 on a proposal to raise the abatement on income tax from £3OO to £SOO for roamed men. The majority consisted of Labourites, f> " Nationalists and half a dozen Unionists including the Hon. Sir T. W. Smartt, " leader of the party. CAPETOWN, August 14. No political significance is attached to the Government's defeat over the income lax esemption. ' *
