Premier of New South Wales, said that the judges, at the previous inquiries, might have %und differently, if wider scope had been given them. Answering the jibe that_ Mr Justice Ewing is "a second-class judge from a second-class State," he said that Australia's nJbst brilliant Justice, Sir Samuel Griffith, came from tho smaller States. Mr Hughes has denied that the Commonwealth is concerned with tho released prisoners. Tho Federal Government, ho said, contemplated no action. ■
