in the players faces, but it was ovideut that the wearers of the yollow-and-black were determined to make every possible effort to win. It was mainly a forward game, but of an open and fast nature. At times, however, the Wellington backs displayed creditable passing ability, and several spirited rushes ended in tries beins; scored. On the day's performance Wellington fully "deserved its success, and it was fitting that it was brought about on the day on which the dinner to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the club was held.
