GOLD FOR JAPAN
AN AMERICAN CONSIGNMENT. (Received July 26, 12.15 a.m.) ' # NEW YORK, July 23. It is expected that four million dollars in gold will be sent to Tokio before the end of' July. Akira Don, Financial Commissioner, stated that neither the Japanese Government nor the Bank of Japan has any connection with this gold export, which is only the' normal exchange of private banks. jPhe present total gold reserve helol by" the Government and the Bank of Japan, consisting of the home gold reserve and credit abroad, amounts to 1,021,000,000 yen.
