Westland, soys:—"l spent a pleasant but perspiring day amongst the forest giants of the Great Western Timber Company’s sawmill area near the Okarito Township, and was much impressed by the size and quantity of magnificent rimu and totara trees. On a previous visit one had the opportunity of viewing their northern block, and 1 found there the thickest growth of rimu and white pino that can he seen anywhere." This wonderful forest is to be opened up by the Great Western Timber Co-.
