SERIOUS FLOODS
POSITION IN N.S.W. GREAT DISASTER. FOR WHEAT. FARMERS. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association, (Received Julv 5, 10 p.m.) SYDNEY, July 5. As the result of floods the country from Narrahri to Wcrris Creek is one vast sheet of water. Rescue boats in some instances are rowing 150 miles. The water on the Brccza Plains tor many miles is 30ft deep. It is estimated that stock losses amount to £SO,CGO. The greatest disaster, however, will occur to the wheat farmers, for apparently the whole of 200,000 acres planted will be ruined. The waters are now subsiding quickly, but it i's’ estimated that it will be two -weeks before the railway traffic is fully restored. .TASMANIAN” RIVERS FLOODED. (Received Julv 5, 10 p.m.) HOBART, July 5. Following on the heavy rain, most of the northern Tasmanian rivers are flooded.
