£IOO GOVERNMENT SUBSIDY. < The following communication has been received by tho Mayor (Mr J. P. Luke) from tho Minister for Internal Affairs iHon . G. Anderson) : Dear sir,—With reference to the representations made by the Women’s National Reserve (Mother’s Help Division), which waited upon mo on Juno 16th regarding assistance from the Government in tho way of subsidy on all amounts received by the Reserve for the business of carrying on tho humanitarian service of helping the mothers, I have pleasure in informing you that the Government has agreed to a subsidy of £IOO being granted, this being on the basis of £1 for every £2 raised by the Reserve. Will yon kindly advise those concerned accordingly.
