The Seamen's Conference approved by 57 votes to 8 of a report proposing an international code for seamen, dealing with the articles of agreement, accommodation, the settlement of disputes, and discipline. GENOA, July 2. The Seamen's Conference has approved the extension of the Washington . decisions concerning unemployment and insurance against unemplovment. A special resolution was passed providing that engagement contracts should fully protect seamen. The conference advocates free employment bureaux at every poru. forty-fourSourTVeek IN PORT. A Commission of the Seamen's Conference at Genoa decided to submit to the. forthcoming conference a, proposal that the working hours of seamen should not exceed forty-mour weekly in port, and beyond this limit work should ho compensated.
