.... According, tq. a telegram from Auckland, .a saloon passenger on the Monowai, named S. Thacker, a boot importer, of Gisborne, disappeared from the vessel on Sunday morning while on the voyage from Gisborne to Auckland. The missing man was last.seen alive at 1 o'clock, and was missing at 4 o'clock; UNKNOWN MAN KILLED. A Press message from Auckland advises that an unknown man was knocked down by a taxi-cab in Khyber Pass on Saturday evening and killed.
