The following message from the secretary to His Royal Highness tho Prince of Wales has been received by tho General Officer Commanding, New Zealand Forces, and is published in the latest, general headquarters instruction : “ ‘His Royal Highness much appreciates the thoroughness and efficiency of all the military arrangements, and would like you to convey his thanks to your staff, to tho officers, commanding districts, and to all others concerned. His .Royal Highness would also 'like to repeat tho tribute which he paid in his farewell address to the Government and people of New Zealand, to tho smartness and efficiency of all the troops and cadets whom he saw on parade. He knows that many of tho Territorials paraded for his benefit at considerable personal inconvenience, and is very glad to note so much, keenness and public spirit in that important force.’ _ „

“The General Officer Commanding desires to add to the above appreciation his personal thanks to all ranks who attended the parados for inspection by His Royal Highness, and to all who assisted in tho military arrangements and thereby contributed to the great success of the Royal tour throughout the Dominion.”
