CEMENT AND COAL
THE SHORTAGE RELIEVED. Tho shortage of coal for tho manufacture of cement has been relieved, tho chairman of directors of tho Hikurangi min©. North Auckland, has informed tho Prime Minister. The mine in question had only been able for some weeks to provide not more than 98 tons per week for cement manufacture, but it is now ablo to provide some 48-t tons a week. The cement works affected are stkted to be of considerable size and capacity.
