The Department will provide the following articles of furniture for shelters of patients suffering from pulmonary tuberculosis upon application of the person to whom a- shelter or tent is provided: Bedstead, mattress, bedside table, and a chair. Thß department will not bo responsible for the maintenance or replacement of those articles. The furniture will bo on loan to the patient, as/in the case of the shelter, and will continue to bo the property of the Defence Department. It is stated in the annual report of the Onslow Progressive Association that the matter of subways at Ngaio and Khandallah is still under negotiation between the Railway Department and the City Council, and it' is hoped that the matter will be satisi factorily settled at an early date.
