REUNION AND ROLL OF , HONOUR. , *’ At a meeting of the Boys’ Institute, the director, Air J. W. Duller, referred to tho question of a- reunion supper and also the erection of a permanent roll of honour in memory of those who had served in the great war. Over 200 old boys had seen service overseas, and 21 of them had made the supreme sacrifice, three had received tho Military Aleclal, and Captain W. J. Hardham, V.C., who also saw service in the South African war, was the first New Zealander to receive a Victoria Cross. It was decided to hold a supper at an early date, and also to raise a fund for tho erection of a roll of honour in tho Institute, as well as a memorial panel in -memory of those who had given thoir lives for iho Empire. Air P. Huston’s recent suggestion that a cap or shield should be given for competition to tho younger members of iho Institute in memory ot tho fallen was unanimously adopted. A committee consisting of Alcssrs S. Ross (convener), C. K. Dick, J. D. Howitt, IV. Pointon, and F. AlcFailane, with power to add, wore appointed to compile a record of those _ who had scon service overseas. It is Intended to request tho new Governor-General, Lord Jcllicoe, to unveil the memorial.
