DOMINION LOSES £1,760,000 ANNUALLY. Through the motor-car and other accidents that occurred all over the Dominion, wo were killing a man, a woman, or a child, every day in tho year, declared Dr. Thacker in tho House of Repxesentathos yesterday. Each of them was valued at £SOOO capitalised; so that if 350 wore killed in the year, that meant an annual loss of £1,750,000. There was a lot talked the previous day about saving money through the Customs; but it was, surely, of still. greater importnnco to save that million and threequarters a year by saving human lives.
