ARBITRATION COURT

AN APPLICATION DISMISSED. TEE PRESS ASSOCIATION. DUNEDIN, July 1. Tho Arbitration Court dismissed tbo application of the Dunedin and Mosgicl Woollen Mills Union and Oamaru Woollen JUIls Union to,vary tbo Otago, Southland, Canterbury, "Wellington, and Northern Industrial Districts Federated "Woollen Employees’ award. 'The court hold that tho applications could not bo entertained, for tho reason that they were not properly before tbo court, inasmuch as tho War Legislation Act required such applications to bo mndo by a parly to an award. These unions were not parties to the award, and had no locus standi to make-an application to amend an award. The proper party to make such application, ij it thought proper to do so, was the association of workers who were partv to the award, and of which tho two unions mentioned were only constituent unions.
