A PITIABLE CASE
WOMAN AND HER BABIES. WANDERING AND WET THROL'GH. A homeless woman, Christina Saville, made her appearance before JMr E. Page, S.M., in’ the Magistrate’s Court yesterday, charged with being an idle and disorderly person in that she had insufficient lawful means of support. The accused entered a plea of not guilty. Sub-Inspector Emerson said that the previous night at 10,30 o’clock the defendant was found at the Thoi'udon station- with two children, one of whom was five years of ago and the other six months old. She was wandering about , with her babies, wet through, and had nowhere to sleep. For some time past Saville had been sleeping out when she could not find persons willing to give her a night’s lodging. Kc> understood that the accused intended to plead guilty to tho charge, and in the circumstances, he naked for a remand in order that the attendance of witnesses might be procured
