FEDERAL CLUB

ROLL OF HONOUR UNVEILED. At the Federal Club Willie etrcot, last night, the Mayor (Mr J. V. Luke, C.M.G., M.P.), unveilod a . roll of honour bearing the names of the members of the club who served in. the world war. Thirty-nine members went away to the war, and of these eight wore either" killed in action or died' of wounds. In an appropriate speech, His Worship referred to tho gallant BerTicca rendered by our boys at the front, and expressed .his sympathy with tho relatives of those who had made tho last great sacrific* for King and country. Mr H. R. Scarlo (president) prosidod over a. largo gathering of members and friende, an excellent supper was partaken of, and a very enjoyable musical programme was provided by the club orchestra, members, and visitors. Tho toast 'Our Returned Boys/' given by the president, was onthusiaotically received, and suitably responded to by Dr Isaacs and Mr R. A. Evensen. "A tribute! to Fallen Comrades," proposed by Dr A. W. Izard, was honoured in silence. Tho toast, "Kindrod Clubs," was ptoposed by Mr AV. L. Morgan, jind responded to by Messrs M. A. Carr and Zachariah; While iMr H. Oakley Browne gavo "Tho New Zealand Parliament.'' coupled •with tho name of Dr A. K. Newman, M.P.-
