The Alexander, due at AVellington today from Picton, is now fixed to leave here at noon to-morrow for Nelson and West Coast. Tho Mnrama was brought out of dock at Port Chalmers on Monday afternoon. The vessel’s overhaul is expected to be completed in about ten days’ time. The Shaw, Savill and Albion liner Zealandic is to leave Auckland .to-mor-roiv for AA'eilington in continuation of her voyage from Liverpool. The Karamu is to sail from AVellington to-morrow for Greymouth. Tho Kittawa is to leave AA’eilington today for Gray mouth to load coal toy AVellihgton. The Corinna is due at AA’eilington on Sunday from New Plymouth, and is ip sail on Monday with general cargo for Dunedin, Oamaru, and Timaru.
This evening the Poherua is to leave AVellington for AVestport. Tho Stella, which is loading at Dunedin, is to leave there to-morrow for Wellington, where she is due on Monday. The vessel is to leave hero on Tuesday with general cargo for the AVest Coast. The Canterbury Co.’s steamer Calm is due at AVellington to-day with a load of produce from Lyttelton. The vessel will sail on Monday with cargo for , Lyttelton and Timaru. The Blackball Coal Co.’s steamer Ngakuta is to leave Port Chalmers to-day for Greymouth to load coal for AVellington. The Blackball Coal Co.’s steamer Ngatoro was to leave Greymouth on Wednesday for Auckland. , Tlio Ngahere was coaling the AA’aimato at AA’eilington yesterday. The liner Paparoa, according to radio advice, will arrive at Auckland to-day from Liverpool via Panama. The vessel will discharge at Auckland, AVellington. Lyttelton, and Dunedin. NEW SHAAV, SAVILD IA’ERS. The Armstrong, Whitworth Company will hand over to the Shaw, Savill and Albion Company the new cargo imer Tairoa this month. The vessel has recently been completed at the former company's yards at Newcastlo-on-Tyne. She will commence running without dolav. Glasgow, do hot expect to have the cargo steamer Matakaua ready tor launching for soma months yet. ULIMAROA FOB SYDNEY. At 12.36 p.m. yesterday tho HuddaHParker steamer Ulimaroa left AVellington for Sydney and Hobart. The list of passengers appeared in yesterday s "N.Z. Times." THE AVAIKAWA. The Union Company's cargo steamer Waikawa, which was at Wellington, recently, arrived back from Melbourne on Wednesday night and berthed yesterday morning at 9.39 o’clock at No. 1* south. Queen’s wharf. The vessel experienced fine weather on tho passage across from Melbourne, from which port she sailed at 5 p.m. last Friday. Tho Waikawa is to load general cargo here for Ancklnd, and is expected to get away on Tuesday. She will load at Auckland for San Francisco, proceeding via Suva to the Californian port. CITY OP WINCHESTER. SAILED. Cable advice has been received in AVollington that the steamer City of AA’inchester left New York on May 21st for Now Zealand ports, with general cargo. ATHENIC AT SOUTHAMPTON. Cable advice has been received bv the Shaw, Savill and Albion Company that the liner Athenic arrived at Southampton on tho 23th inst. from AA’eilington. The vessel left hero on April. 4th. MEAT FOR NEAV YORK. The New York "Evening Globe” announces that arrangements have been made for the delivery of 36.CC0,0991bs of New Zealand lamb and mutton during a period of six months. [ The steamer Armagh arrived with 290,6661 b, and tho Suffolk was to arrive in a few weeks. . Lamb will bo sold at 26.1 cents (191(1) per lb wholesale, tho local wholesale price of domestic lamb being 34 cents (Is ad). MOKOIA’S MOVEiMENTS. ' The Union Company’s steamer Mokoia is clue hero this morning from Dunedin and Lyttelton and will berth at No. 16, Jervois quay. She is to leave AVellington at 2 p.m. to-morrow for Napier, Gisborne, Tokomaru Day, and Auckland. The vessel will clear Napier on Sunday night. THE GALLIC LOADING. The Shaw, Savill and Albion Company advise that tlio liner Gallic arrived at AA’aitara at 16 a.m. yesterdety from New Plymouth. Tho vessel is to leave there to-morrow for AVanganui and Lyttelton to complete loading for London. ARAWA LEFT PANAMA., The Shaw, Savill and Albion Company have received cable advice that the liner Arawa, en route from Southampton, left Panama on the 24th inst. for New Zealand ports. The vessel is due at Auckland on June 18th. THE ARAHDRA.
The Union Company advise- that the Arahura will now leave Napier at 8 o'clock to-morrow night for Gisborflie and Auckland, instead of to-night. EARAWA DELAYED. Levin and Co. advise that the Earawa has been delayed at Onehunga by bad weather and will not get away from there before 3 p.ni. to-day for New Plymouth. Tho vessel is now timed to leave New Plymouth to-morrow night, instead of to-night, for Onehunga. , CUBE A DOE LEFT AUCKLAND. Tho U.S. and A. Line chartered steamer Chepadoo lo£t Auckland at 8.20 a.m. yesterday for Napier and Wellington in continuation of her voyage from New York. The vessel is expected to arrive at Wellington on Tuesday, and will leave hero next Thursday for Brisbane. CARGO FROM NEW YODK. The C. and D. Lino steamer Fort Curtis is now loading at New York for Ncw Zealand and Australian ports. The vessel is expected to sail early in Juno, coming out via Panama Canal. TO LOAD FOR NEW TOFK. The Federal and Shire Lino steamer Westmoreland is to load at AVhangarei and Auckland for Liverpool. Tho vessel is due at Whangarei on June 21at from Australia, and to leave Auckland about June 31st for Liverpool via Panama. The Argyllshire is to load at AVhangarei, Auckland, Whakatane, Tokomaru Bav, and Wellington for Liverpool. The vessel is due at Whangarei from Australia on Juno 23rd, and is to get away from Wellington on July 10th for Liverpool via Panama.
"STOP-AVORK” FUNERAL. Tho Wellington AVatersidci Union has arranged for a * stop-work funeral at 2.30 p.m. to-morrow for the late Mr Robert Lenshman, a member of the union, who strained his heart while working in No. 4 hold of the steamei Port Nicholson on Wednesday morning and died at the hospital as a result at 8.30 o’clock yesterday morning. . There was a resolution adopted some time ago by the AVatersido Federation that a “stop-work ’ - funeral be riven any member of a waterside union who receives fatal injuries while engaged in his occupation. Leashman, it appears, was slewing a heavy ease with his dog-hook when he strained his heart. Deceased, who was about 35 years of age, leaves a widow and two children. Ho joined tho union during October. 1917. Ho enlisted to go to the front, and re-entered the union in January. 1919. All waterside work will cease for the day at noon tomorrow. THE PORT NICHOLSON. The C. and D. Line steaner Port Nicholson is expected to sail from Wellington next Wednesday for Picton for Homeward loading. The vessel e ill return thence to AVellington ariiving here on June 6th to complete loading, and is to sail on June 19th for London via Panama. AVAIAVERA TO LOAD. The Shaw, Savill and Albion' liner AA’aiwera is to leave Newcastle on /Wednesday for AVellington, -where she is due on June 7th, for Homeward loading. The vessel will go to Lyttelton to fill up and is to sail from there on June 26th for Londn via Panama. . THE SCHAVARZENFELS. Tho steamer Schwarzenfels, with a cargo of basic phosphate from Safaga (Red Sea), lias had to wait in tho stream at Auckland until a berth was . available. This has delayed the vessel and she will not reach Wellington until to-morrow week. The Schwarzenfels is an eleven knot vessel, 310 ft in length. Captain D. P. The Shaw, Savill and Albion liner lonic, en route from Southampton, loft Auckland yesterday evening for AVellington, whore she is duo to-morrow afternoon. AA’AITEMATA AT AUCKLAND. .The AVaitemata, which arrived at Auckland from A’ancouver and San Francisco on Monday night, wont to the Queen’s wharf on Wednesday morning. The vessel left A’ancouver on April 19tn for San Francisco, arriving there on the 22nd. She loaded 69,606 cases of benzine and a small amount of general cargo at that port, anrd sailed, for Auckland on the 29th. A fair trip, with moderate seas is reported, nor was there any unusual incident on board. The benzine cargo is for Auckland, and the vessel carries almost 2690 tons ’of paper for Melbourne, and a quantity of crude oil for Sydney. It is likely that she will bo in port until tho middle of next week. GREYMOUTH BAR BAD. The Union Company received telegraphic advice from Greymouth statin-; that the bar at that port was unworkable. It was doubtful whether the Rosamond, for AA’estport and AVellington, and the Kokiri, for AVellington, would be able to leave there last evening.
