PORT NICHOLSON CLUB YACHT AXU LAUKCH RACES. Tlie fourth points race was sailed last Saturday afternoon. This was postponed' from February 28th. The now handicaps gave tin limit ho ts every opportunity in noth tue first and secomiclass events. The Marangi was placed one minute behind tho Waitangi, usually the scratch boat. The winner of the first-class handicap was 1 Air Neil’s Viola, and the winner of the teoond-class bandicap was Air Tringhanrs Lizzie. The first-class race provided an in.eres ing go for third piace between the Ansa and the Waitangi when approaching the finishing line. The big yacht, however, scored. Results in the first-lcass race are as follow: —1, Viola (1 Grain), finishing time, 4hrs 35min; 2, Wairera ill. (20min), 4hrs 3omin SOsec; 3, Waitangi (Imin), 4hrs 45min Sosec; Alisa (9min), 4hrs 46 in in 2osec; Rbna (3minj, 4hrs 48min 44sec; Marangi ’ (scr). 4hrs fiOmiri SSsec. ' Results in the second-class race are as follow:—!, Lizzie (14min), 4hrs 36min: 2, Galatea (scr), 4hrs 36mm Sfieec; Wilo (XOmin), 4hra ,40mm 48sec. In the first-class the Atalanta and Wanderer did not start, in the sec ond-class tho lolantho and \\ind , vsaru wore non-starters. . The launch race .resulted in a wm for Mr Ronayne’s Nellie EVANS BAY CtUB YACHT AND MOTOR BOAT RACES. The successful racing season of the -Evans Bay Yacht and Moror-boat Club was brought to a close /Saturday, when three races were held—one for first-class and one tor yachts, and one for motoi-boats. iho weather was ideal for racing, th e ing a moderate north-west breeze. The first-class yachts got away to a splendid start, tho whole of the seien starters being in perfect Hue, !“ akl £f very pretty picture. The follow mg boats started Wanderer, Atalanta, . Romp. Viking. Seabird, Venus, and Ami. iho course was from the starting line m Evans Bay round Somes Island and back. On the boat up the bay there was some fine sailing. Wanderer. Atalanta and Romp drawing away in the lead ana being very close together. On making the south end of the island (ike wind at this stage being light and . fluky). Wanderer got tho beet of it and rounded tho mark just ahead of Atalanta, with Romp about four minutes. behind, Seabird, Viking, and Venus being well back, and Ami last. , The finishing line was crossed by. Wanderer at 4hr lomm 25soc, Atalanta 4hr 16min 40seo, Romp 4hr 25min 25sec, Seabird 4hr 30min 35 SCO, Viking 4fir , 33mm 4Ssec Venus 4hr Somin ssec, and Ami shr 12mm 3o seo. Tho handicap adjustments placed the yachts as follow:
