BREACHES OF BY-LAWS

SEVERAL OFFENDERS DINED. Several persons charged with breaches of b\vlaws were dealt with by Messrs I. Salck and M. C. O'Connell, J.P.’s, at the Magistrate's Court yesterday. Drank H- Williams was fined 20s for leaving his motor-cat at night without a light attached, and Bert Avery was similarly penalised for failing to have a rear light attached to his car. For driving his ear at a -greater speed than six miles per hour while turning a corner, Peter C. Connell was mulcted ids and costs. Claud Pulsford, who left his motorcar unattended, was ordered to pay 20s. A fine of 20s was imposed on D. Barry for driving a car before obtaining a license, and James C. Francis was mulcted 20s for driving past a stationary tramcar at a greater speed than four miles per hour. Janies Procter, who failed to have attached to his taxi a schedule of fares, was penalised 40s. For lighting a fire in the open without first obtaining permission, William J. Hears was fined 10s, Kobort H. Nimmo being similarly dealt wttb for disobeying the signal of a "points” constable. John Anderson was" fined os and costs for permitting fly larvae to exist in his stables in Frederick street. A fine of 20s was imposed on James Thomas Annand for interfering with electrical appliances on a tramcar, Walter Miles suffering the same fate for permitting offensive matter to accumulate on his premises in Cambridge terrace. Edmund Pealt was mulcted 10s for falling to obey a notice to remove gorse from bis premises. Patrick Cavanagh was fined 10s for allowing stock to wander, and for similar offences John A. Connor, Walter Hadley,, Tim Herlihy, James T. Moore, Thomas F. McNamara, and Lavington McWilliams were each fined 10s. , Leonard Cloake was fined 20s and costs for failing to register a vehicle required to be registered. . , . B. R. Suisted was merely convicted lor carrying out.an addition to a house without a permit to do so.
