Tho “New York Times” Washington correspondent reports that the Senate Foreign Relations Committee has begun the consideration- of tho joint peace resolution. Tho committee is not expected to take any action on tho resolution this week. It is understood that Senator Knox will offer an amendment which will declare that the United States will view with grave concern any assault on tho peace of Europe, and will take whatever action may bo deemed necessary.

Tho Democratic members of the committee have said they will oppose this amendment.
