RALLYING CRY

(Received April 13, 9.10 p.m.) LONDON, April 12. Constantinople reports state that the new Sheikhul-Islam has issued a “fetwa’’., indicting'the. Nationalists for raising rebel levies; and oppressing, robbing and murdering the Sultan’s subjects and thereby causing Constantinople to be cut off from tho Ottoman. Empire. Tho “fetwa” calls upon all Moslems to rally to- the Sultan’s -standard, and places ’the Nationalists under an interdict of tho faith. Another “fetwa” banning Bolshevism is expected to be issued in a few days. Danad Ferid Pasha, the Grand Vizier, has issued a communique bluntly asserting that tho Turkish people’s worst enemies are those who, tinder mask of Nationalism, would sacrifice the country to their personal ambitions.
■Tho “Dailv Telegraph’s” correspondent states that these pronouncements, while causing a civil war in Turkey, will give to tho Entente a now ally.
