PRESBYTERIAN ASSEMBLY
REV. MURRAY AND INFANT BAPTISM. FEE ASSOCIATION. AUCKLAND, April 13. Tho Presbyterian Assembly to-night considered the case of the Rev. A. A. Murray, of St. Andrew’s Church. On the report of the clerk of the Presbytery, who read tho finding of the General Assembly, the Rev. I. Jolly moved: “That the Presbytery appoint a representative committee to confer with Mr Murray, and report at tho next meeting of tiro Presbytery with a recommendation as to the course they would advise the Presbytery to follow.’’ The Rev. James Pattison moved an amendment; “That the committee make its recommendation without conferring with Mr Murray, seeing that his puiition in respect to infant baptism had undergone no change.’’ This was not seconded, and Mr John Comrio, elder of St. Andrew's, moved: “That the case bo dealt with forthwith, ’’ and Mr Murray, who had already asked for tho matter to bo decided at that meeting, seconded the motion, amid laughter. Mr Jolly’s motion was carried, and Mr Murray then left tho meeting.
