Speaking .at tiho Imperial Service Club's welcome, General Sir William Birdwood urged Australia to keep in full touch and exercise reciprocity with New Zealand in tho defence of tho Pacific. Ho added that the chiefs of the General Staffs should be in touch With each other. Ho suggested an extensive system for tho exchange of officers between tho Indian and Australian armies.
