FIRE AT CHEVIOT
BUSINESS PREMISES DESTROYED. Tie Secretary of tho General Post Office has received the following telegram from the postmaster at Cheviot: An extensive fire occurred here at 2 o'clock this morning, and ji block ol buikUny*, comprising an ©|pty dwel-ling-house, tho offices of Dalgety and Co., ft shop occupied by Weatherdan, and the Town Hall, were completely destroyed. INSURANCES ON BUILDINGS. TSVt KIZS9 ASSOCIATION. OHRISTOHUROII. April 11. The Town Hall and Wcatherdon's •tore, at Cheviot, were insured in tho Sun office for £675. This amount covered the contents of the Town Hall. Dalgety's premises were insured in the Victoria office for £875, and tho contents for £1155 in the same office.
