' SHARP FIGHT IN PITCH DARKNESS. ATTACK ON POLICE BARRACKS. By Telegraph—Press Assn—Copyright Australian ami Cubic A--’ f LONDON, April 8. (Received April 10, 13.15 a.m.) A determined attack was made on the barracks at Roskeen (Tipperary). The police sent up rockets, which were seen at Thurles, from where rein iorcr.mcnts, armed with rifles, went to their assistance. On their arrival at Roskeen a- light in pitch darkness followed, in which one policeman was wounded. The raiders were driven off. BALLROOM RAIDED. THE UNION JACK INSULTED. (Received April 10, 1 a.m.) LONDON. April 9. The Sinn Feiners raided a fashionable ballroom at Dungavin. They broke the windows and removed the Union Jqcks which were decorating the hall and replaced them with Sinn Fein flags. The ball- was then resumed.
