Captain E. Nicholas, of the Kitbawa, has transferred to the Eosamond in place of Captain Bullock. The steamer John will now not leave Lyttelton until Monday for Dunedin. She will subsequently proceed to Oamaru, Timaru, and Wellington, arriving here about to-morrow week. The coastal steamer Wootton is due at Wellington to-day cargo laden from Lyttelton. She will sail on Monday on the return trip. The Blackball Coal Company's steamer Ngakuta is due at Lyttelton this morning from Newcastle. The Union Company are converting their Wellington coal hulk Adderlcy into an oil store ship at the patent slip wharf in Evans Bay. Considerable difficulty was experienced at Dunedin Jiy the owners of tho Stella in bunker coal for tho vessel, but a sufficient supply was lent by the Otago Iron Rolling Mills Co., and she was able to get away on Tuesday evening for tho Campbell Islands. The Stella is due back at Dupedin on Monday next with a shipment of wool. After discharge she will probably dock at Port Chalmers to have a new’ propeller fitted. THE NOKATAY. ■ Captain C- S. N. News has been received that a salvage party left Now York on February 11th for Panama Bay, where they will examine the sunken steamer Marne. The vessel, it will be remembered, caught fire while en route from New York .to Now Zealand and Australian ports cargo-laden under the auspices of the U.S. and A. Line.
