The Echo will not go to Weslthaven this trip, and will leave for Wairoa with 170 tons of coal for the freezing works on Friday. The Alexander arrives to-day,' and will be dispatched for "Nelson'and the West Coast to-night. The Rosamond is expected to leave Grevmouth at noon to-day with coal for Wellington. The bar was unworkable yesterday, and the Kamona was waiting outside all day for a chance to slip in and ptek up a coal cargo for Wellington. She will sail this evening if tho Greymouth bar is navigable. The Waikawa is timed to leave Wellington to-day' for Newcastle to bring another coal back to this port. \ The Waihemo is expected in from southern ports to-morrow/and will commence loading for San Francisco on Saturday." The Wanaka, which, is due here to-day from Timaru. will, on completion of discharge, load for Auckland to Wellington :earlv next month, and then goes to LvHelton 'arid Dunedin. The Kurow, now discharging coal at tho King's wharf, will sail probably on Friday for Makatea Island for a load of phosph-ites for New Zealand, NIKAU AND KAITOA. Messrs W. M. Bannatyne and Co. advise as follows regarding tho running of the Kaitoa and Nikau at Easter —The Kaitoa leaven Wellington oa Wednesday, March 31st, for Nelson, returning to Wei' •lingtou on April 7th Tho Nikau leaves Wellington on Thursday, April Ist, returning to this port on April 6th. THE. • News to hand by the last Australian mail states that the Huddnrt-Parker steamer Worribee loaded wheat ut Williamstown during the strike, and left Melbourne at noon on February 28th. She arrived at Sydney on March 2nd, and on account of the urgent demand for wheat in Now South Wales completed discharging a cargo of 65,15 S bags of whett, which equalled 5330 tons, in a little over three days. This is. claimed as a record in the discharging of wheat cargoes. The steamer then proceeded to Newcastle and loaded 60OG tons of coal, leaving that port on March 6th for oourneMONONGAHELA BERTHED. The northerly gale having blown itself out, early yesteruay morning, the Terawhiti went out just before 7 o'clock and towed the four-masted barque Monongahela to an anchorage in the stream. Jbhe was be.ruh.ed at the No. 2 Queen's wharf about A o'clock, a large crowd of interested spectators being oa the wharf, to see this fine ship as she came alongside. 6he is a four-masted steel barque of 278Ji tons gross, built in 1892 by Barclay, Currio and Co., <Glasgow, and is owned bv the United States Shfppiny Boaiu. The Monongahela carries 30,000 cases of benzine, and 7CO tons ot general cargo for discharge here, and is under the agency of Murray Roberts. Captain Swain, interviewed by a, "Times" - reporter, stated that the voyage from San Francisco of 68 days was an uneventful one and accomplished under the standard time ot C2 days. Bao. weather was experienced on nearing the New Zealand coast. Capo Palliser was sighted last Thursday, but the ship drew off until Friday, when she made for Wellington Heads. Captain Swain is on his hrt voyage to the Dominion, but has made nine voyages to Australia, and is well acquainted with the Pacific.
