DEER STALKING
SEASON OPENS ON APRIL Ist. The red deer shooting season for 1920, will open in the i/ellington Acclimatisation Society's district: Thursday, April Ist, and close on Monday, May 31st, 1920. . Stalkers will thus bo enabled to get the benefit of the Easter holidays. The license fee for the Wairarapa. South and Featherston' reserves, is £2, and the holder of a license may take four (4) • stags, and six (6) hinds. Licenses can be obtained from tbo post offices art' Wellington, Mastorton, Carterton, Groytown, Martinborough, and Featherston. For tlio area containing Hutt, Foatherston counties (Wainui), Horowhonua and Hutt county (Paraparaunui), Tarurua Forest Reserve, Tauhcrenikau and Taihape, the license fee is £2, and the holder may take two (2) stags only. Licenses can bo obtained from the post .offices at Wellington, Mnstcrton. Carterton, Featherston. Grey town, Eketahunn. Pahia.tua.. Makuni, Pongaroa, Palmerston North, Pifraparaumu. Otaki. Tallin,ue. Mangaweka, Shannon, and Lower Hutifc. Tho area, from Mannwatu Gorge to Otaki is closed to* stalkers, but the Tauhereniknn county is open for the first, time for years. Regulations as to deer labels must ho ndborojj to. -and after the license bolder has comnleted his season, a return of stags short, rnnst he sent to +he local secretary, and also any remaining stags.
