TRAM CURTAILMENT
- NO GARS ON GOOD FRIDAY. The of the tram service dur- ; ing the Easter holiday season was dis- ■ cussed as a by-subject at last night’s meeting of the City Council. It was announced that the service twpuld be conipletely suspended op Good Friday, while a short service would be run on Saturday and Sunday ; the full normal running would be resumed on the Monday. The object of • the break is to permit the sUdf an op-: portunity of cleaning out the boilers at the power station, .and to effect other minor repair works. j The acting-Mayor (Councillor George : Frost) yesterday stated that the tram- 1 way service was now- once more running most satisfactorily, the repairs re- ; cently. effected at the power station having been completely successful. By : ■Easter Monday it was anticipated that everything in connection with the partment would be in complete working order. • . j
