GALATEA WINS LADIES’ RACE. The Port Nicholson A’acht Club conducted its annual yacht race for ladies on Saturday afternoon. The weather was ideal, with a moderate sea running. Great interest was evinced in the event, as quite a number .of the “skippers" were skilled helmswomen and members of tho club. Tho club course, from Clyde quay wharf to Jerniugham buoy, N gall auranga, Clyde quay, Jerniugham buoy and back to the starting Hue was sailed. Following arc the results: — Galatea, •4hr 37min 43sec 1 Rona, 4hr 44min 2seo 3 Aisla, 4hr -45 min 50sec 3 Also ,started—lolanthe, thr 42min 6seo and Waitangi, 4hr 46min -tGscc. Tho Jliro and Warehou did not start. The lolanthe finished second, but was disqualified for rounding tho buoy at Ngahauranga on tho wrong side. Miss G. Breen sailed the winning boat herself very creditably. Miss- AlcLean was in charge of the Bona.
