MASTEHTON, March 13. Messrs J. D. Rowlands, K. E. Welch, and J. O’Keefe have been appointed managers of the Dry River water-race committee. . A loan of .£3OOO for the extension ol the Martinborough electrical plant has been granted. Mr Eric Threadwell, of Masterton, met with n serious accident while engaged in his duties at the Distributing Company’s stores (states our Wararapa correspondent). A sack of 'wheat fell oh him and injured his back. Mr Threadwell is at present confined to his bed, Mrs A. J. H. Briden, of Masterton, won several first prizes as well as the rose bowl in cut flowers at the Pahiatuo show. At tho Masterton S.M. Court Dr. NH. Prior was fined X 3 and costs for haying driven his motor car over tho railway line -at the Lincoln road crossing while tho lino was not clear. A porter in evidence told Dr. Prior to stop, hut the latter took no notice, and if tho driver of the train had not smartly put on tho Wcstingho.use brake there would have been a' serious Occident. Mr F." Bunny has sold sixteen acres of his Grey town estate at -ClO6 per acre. One case of influenza was reported in Masterton yesterday.
