March 12It is understood that the War Office is meeting all the Australian and Now Zealand military claims in a generous spirit. It has been decided to accept Senator Pearce’s proposal to recoup Australia’s cost of maintaining the troops retained in Egypt owing to the native riots. All expenditure traceable to riots will be rerecovered from the Egyptian Government. _ . In accordance with a recent agreement the full cost of grave spaces, crosses and maintenance, also a considerable proportion of the burial expenses of the Australians and New Zealanders buried in the United Kingdom, will ibe met out of Imperial funds.
