POLITICAL ACTION TO COMPEL ADOPTION OF NATIONALISATION. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyriehl Imperial News Service. (Received March 12, 7.30 p.m.) LONDON, March 11. A special meeting of tho Trades Union Congress assembled to consider action to compel tho adoption of the nationalisation of mines. Mr J. H. Thomas presided over, delegates representing over five million workers. On tho card voto policy direct action was rejected by 3,870,000 to 1,050,000 votes. Subsequently it was decided by 3,732,000 votes to 1,015,000 to continue political action. GENERAL STRIKE FAVOURED CREATION OFSOVIETS IN BRITAIN. Reuter’s Telegram. (Received March'l3, 12.10 a.m.) LONDON, March 11. A meeting of the rank and file convention organised by shop stewards resolved in favour of a general strike for the nationalisation of tho mines, and further resolved in favour of the creation of Soviets in Britain. In this connection delegates are meeting on the 12th to establish Soviets in various parts of the country.
