Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. PRETORIA, February 26. General Smuts (Prime Minister) speaking at a large and enthusiastic meeting, emphasised the seriousness ot the Republican agitation, and the unwise attitude of the labour leaders in minimising it. General Smuts promised drastic anti-profi'teering, sound currency, industrial and conciliation measures, also the reform of the Railway administration, by the establishment of joint boards. He refused to say what he would do in the absence of a clear majority.
