Pago, S.M., Frederick Hilton, proprietor of the National Hotel, was charged with permitting an unregistered barmaid to serve in the bar, and also of employing an unregistered barmaid. Mr P. W. Jackson appeared for Hilton, who pleaded not guilty. Suh-Inspeotor Emerson, who prosecuted, in outlining tht facts, stated that some time ago Jessie Jackson, a barmaid, was prosecuted for being an unregistered barmaid, but owing to a defect in tho charge the caso was dismissed without prejudice to a further prosecution. Sub-Inspector Ivni' t-oii admitted the facts. After hearing "evidence fcho magistrate said he would trice lime to consider the evidence, and resolved his judgment. A charge of aiding and abetting Frederick Hilton in employing an unregistered barmaid wan preferred against Jessie Jackson. On the application of Mr P. IV.
