*». ' ANNUAL SPORTS. On Saturday afternoon the Hataitai Bathin<? Club held their annual sports at Hataitai Bay, although the weather was fine, owing to tho cold southerly tvind it was decided to postpone tho diving events for a week. The excellent handicapping nrovided a good afternoon's Bport for tho large attendance of the public present. The ladies' committee provided afternoon tea, and a 6pecial vote of thanks for their services was proposed by tho president (Mr Buckmaster), when pre 6enting the prizes. Tho results ot the swimming races were as follows: — Club Championship for Boyd Cup and Modal: Men. Phil Edwards 1, D. Burgess 2; lady, L. Huggins 1. Boys' under 10: Furkcrt 1, Searle 2. Boys' under 14: Sadd 1. Russell 2. Boys' under 18: J. Burgess 1. H. G. Filwards 2. Men's Race: P. EVlwards 1, A. Claridge 2. Ladies' Race: L. Huggins 1, M. MacDonald 2. Girls' under 12: M. Julius 1. E. Searle 2. Girls' under 14: V. Russell I.' B. Travors 2. Girls' under 18: L. Huggins 1, M. Macponald 2.
