CONTINUANCE STILL LEADS SOLDIERS' VOTE HEAVILY ~" AGAINST PROHIBITION. Tho latest official figures on the licensing poll available last evening show that with all the electorates and spine of the soldiers' votes accounted for, Continuance has a lead of 1640 votes. The result of some of the voting by New Zealand soldiers in England came to hand yesterday. The figures are:— Total votes counted 406 For Continuance 142 For State Control 230 For Prohibition ..33 Informal 1 Majority against Prohibition Additional wid revised returns which came to hand yesterday are: —
men's voting may be available by Tuesday. Further soldiers' figures are expected to-day. Vessels oji which s.oldiers p.re at sea are due as folio*— - Buahine, 384 troops on board, at Auckland, December 25th. Kimutaka, 492 troops, at Wellington, January 2nd. Kigoma, 311 troops, at Wellington, January 6th. Kuapehu, 184 troops, January 30th.
