♦ (From Our Own Correspondent.) MASTERTON, Novembor 8. Mr F. H. Clarkson, who recently sold bis farm at Carrington, has purchased a. farm at llanakau. At a meeting of the Masterton Com petitions Society last night. Miss V. Hampton was appointed official accompanist, and Pipe-Major C C. Macdonald official piper to the society. Sheep were firm at the Cartertou stock «alo yesterday, while eotno lines of cattlo improved in priue. At tho monthly meeting of the Wuirarapa Returned Soldiers" Association last night, Messrs J- Hebonton, R. R. McKellar, and W. Pillero were elected to fill vacancies on the committee. Mr It. R". Burridgo was elected to represent the association on the repatriation committee and patriotic association, vica Mr B. McLaren resigned. One hundred and seventy-six new members were elected at the meoting.
