Some interesting figures are contained in a return 'giving particulars of the purchases by the ‘imperial Supplies Department of frozen meat and other products. MEAT OPERATIONS. The meat operations commenced on March 3rd, 1916, and the result.is shown in this table;—

The meat in store on October 15th, for which no space had been allocated ‘in overseas steamers, was North Island, 2,781,369 carcases; South Island, 1,888,661; total in 60lb carcases. 4,670,030. ■ Xho total shipments to date are;—
