AIRSHIP DISASTER
GERMAN MACHINE DISAPPEARS IN A STORM. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. AMSTERDAM, November 1. A German airship with thirty of a crew and passengers failed t,o make a landing near Berlin during a storm and disappeared in darkness, badly damaged. There has been no further news of the airship. REMARKABLE ADVENTURES. Published In “The Times." (Received November 7, 12.50 a.m.) BERLIN, November 4. • The airship Bodensee landed after twenty hours in the air. The vessel had most remarkable adventures during a period of the utmost anxiety. She drifted for three hours after her failure to Ijind). The engines were broken and officers killed, but tbe crew, showing great courage and skill, repaired tho motor and navigated the Bodensee throughout the night. The storm eventually cushioned! the airship upon a forest of dwarf fir trees, which were densely covered with snow.
